In this board, there are only two stats that you have to deal with.
Physical and Mental.
Physical does not necessarily mean that every aspect of your physical attributes is the same, your strengths and weaknesses in your bio will determine that. This just contributes to how good these strengths are, and how little or much your weaknesses effect you.
For instance, if player 1 is a character who focuses mainly on speed, and his physical stat is at 15, while player 2 focuses mainly on strength, and his physical stat is at 20, player 1 is still going to be a bit faster than player 2. However player 2 will be much stronger, and have enough speed to at least keep up to a degree with the other player.
Mental, effects how the character can analyze the situation, opponents, and use certain things to their advantage.
If player 1 has a Physical stat of 20, and Mental of 5, while as player 2 has a physical stat of 5, and a mental of 20, player 2 should not be counted out of the fight. Even though player one is most likely very dominant in the physical aspect, player two is able to take in the surroundings and figure out the strengths and weaknesses of the character faster. If player 1's weakness is his speed, then player 2 would distance himself enough that he will be able to have time to think while player 1 was charging in, and more time to get out of the way or put something in front of him to damage the opponent. If player one's weakness was that he has a weak stamina player two would be able to figure that out quickly and thus could find ways to get behind locked doors, keep distancing himself so that player 1 has to run in and tire himself, and things like that.
Also, of course, without a good mental stat you will lose the ability to spot any traps or tricks in battle to screw you over, ultimately ending up in a horrible position for yourself.
Be creative with Mental, it is a strong advantage to have.
Anyway, you start with 25 stat points to distribute throughout the two stats. In your first rank, you may have no more than 50 in total between both stats. Meaning if you start focusing mainly on one and make it a 40-10 separation, you cannot improve your stats further in your current rank by fighting.
Because both stats are effected in battle, you may add one stat point to whichever stat you like per fight you have. This does not count if you are fighting NPCs. Fights with other registered characters is the only kind of fight that gets you stats.
Each rank you move up, you gain a "stat-cap" of 10 to your stat total, as well as three stat points you may distribute as you wish. Here are the ranks:
New Character (0 posts):
Stat-cap = 50
Regular (200 posts):
Stat-cap = 60
Adept (500 posts):
Stat-cap = 70
Advanced (800 posts):
Stat-cap = 80
Superb: (1200 posts):
Stat-cap = 90
Ultimate: (1500 posts):
Stat Cap = 100
Tagonist: (2000 posts):
Stat Cap = 110
(Other ranks will be created if necessary.)
Keep in mind, the only way to overcome the stat-cap is through use of items. (Refer to items rules for further information)
