Name: Jason Winters
Alias: Jay
Age: 16
Grade: Junior
Weight: 151 lbs
Height: 6'3"
Nationality: American
Ethnicity: Brazil 35%, Portugal 10%, Wales 5%, and 50% unknown (he doesn't really want to know)
Hair: His hair is straight, at a medium length, just a little past his nose. It's dark brown and thin. He doesn't wear it any specific way, but if its cold, he will wear a hat.
Eye color: His eye color is blue towards the center, but it shifts to green as it heads toward the edges.
Appearance: He is kinda tall. His skin is dark, but not brown. He just looks really tan all the time. He is muscular, and he lets it show. He wears all colors and patterns of short sleeve button up shirts, buttoned if its cool, unbuttoned if its warm. When it gets really cold, he'll throw on a hooded sweatshirt. He wears cargo shorts or self ripped jeans. He wears a thick black belt with a large buckle that says "J" on it. He wears flip-flops, no matter what time of year it is. You can't see above his nose most often because of his hair. He has thin lips and an average nose. All in all, he can stand out if he wants to, which is the case more often then not.
Personality: Jay is a happy person. He is very optimistic and almost always has a smile on his face. He always finds the best in a situation, even when there seems to be no good. He is personable and constantly trying to have fun. Kind to teachers and students alike, fighting is his the last resort. This doesn't mean he's a pushover though. He will defend himself and/or his friends when the time comes. Very interested in the opposite sex, he often finds himself in trouble when dealing with them, though he is always a gentleman. He also has a problem with saying no. He constantly spreads himself to thin, which in the end helps no one. He is very protective of his younger sister. He will immediately like anyone, unless it is a guy talking to his 14 year old sister, Rose. He is very gentle, sensitive to others' feelings. Though he likes many things, he truly has only one passion: Dancing. He loves dancing in all it's varieties and has devoted his life to making it as a dancer in the real world right out of High School.
History: Jason’s story starts when his mother was forced into being a hooker by an abusive boy friend. After a few years, she was pregnant. She didn’t know who the father was, and didn’t care to find out. This attitude would be later passed on to her son. She ran away, back to her sister in Los Angeles, California. There she birthed her son and tried to make a living. She eventually went back to being a prostitute, for lack of finding a better job. She then got pregnant again, with another unknown clients child. She was very upset with the entire ordeal, and after she safely had her new daughter, she committed suicide.
Meanwhile, Jason was being raised mainly by his aunt, who was, coincidentally, a dance instructor. After her sister killed herself, she realized she could not take care of two children, so she put them up for adoption. The truth of his lineage was never hidden from him or his sister. Though this truth would make most unhappy, Jay took the opposite path and chose to model his life after happier and more uplifting people. His sister, sadly, took it the usual way, and constantly went into bouts of depression as they were growing up. What made life even harder for Jay, though, was his love of dance. Because he loved to dance from a young age, he was mocked by his peers as he went from orphanage to foster home and back again. But he didn’t give up, and was very skilled. He really loved break dancing and swing dancing, which he taught himself through watching others. When he was 8, by some stroke of luck, he and his sister were both adopted by the same family. They allowed him to dance in a studio, where his instructor suggested he learn a special type of dance with a faster pace and harder moves. This dancing was Capoeira. As he learned this “dance fighting” he fell in love with the style, the beat, and the electric fast movements. Life was looking up. His sister even cracked a smile every now and then. His new parents were kind, but traveled often, leaving the two home alone. It was because of these imperfect surroundings that Jason vowed to be able to support himself and his sister, who he loved. He studied Capoeira until he was 14. Though he stopped formal training, he still practiced daily. That leads up until this point. His family just moved, so he’s starting school at this new place. It should prove to be quite the adventure.
Fighting Style:He uses Capoeira. This is a Brazilian form of fighting that is much like dancing in the way that all the moves look choreographed. The truth is, none of them are, but the style is so smooth and fluid, it looks like it. Jay studied one of the newer styles. This uses lots of sweeping and jabbing kicks combined with powerful head-buts and evasive twists, rolls, and flips to knock the opponent to the ground. The newer style has added more punches and elbows to the variety, though they are still secondary. Jay has added his own, almost cynical, taste to the style by using more force to deal real damage to his opponent, instead of just knocking him down. This is because traditional Capoeira is just a game, played for fun, not to injure others. Because of the more used force though, Jay’s Capoeira dance has become less beautiful.
Strengths: His Greatest strength is his agility. Through learning how to dance through his life experiences, he has extraordinarily high dexterity and agility. His speed is devastating. This, combined with his slightly above average strength makes a powerful combination.
Weaknesses: He tends to over exert himself when he is fighting. If he misses a few times when he is trying to hard his balance and rhythm will be thrown off, and he will be practically defenseless. All in all, he is very bad at conserving energy in a fight.
